Sugar-Free Banana Nice Cream

This Sugar-Free Banana nice cream is a refreshing vegan treat for anyone looking for a healthy, whole-food alternative to store bought ice cream. Why else do we love it? It’s free of artificial ingredients and takes just ten minutes to make. Hint: don’t forget to freeze the bananas beforehand, and a food processor is the only piece of equipment you’ll need.
Yields one serving.
Ingredients:
- 2 bananas
Preparation:
Day before:
- Peel fresh bananas and break them into chunks
- Freeze the banana chunks for 24 hours.
Day of:
- Process the frozen banana chunks in a food processor until smooth and creamy. It takes a good few minutes for them to break down fully.
- Add any other desired ingredients. (see variations below)
- Process again or mix by hand to incorporate.
- Enjoy!
Variations:
Add when blending (per single serving):
- Mint Chocolate Chip:
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 4 squares chocolate, grated
- Fruit and Nut:
- 1 teaspoon chopped, dried fruit
- 1 tablespoon chopped nuts
- Berry:
- a handful of your favorite berries, like strawberries, blackberries or blueberries
Tips:
- For a richer flavor, use overripe bananas.
- If the nice cream is too thick, add a tablespoon or two of alternative milk or water.
- Serve immediately or freeze for later.
